Terms of sale
Last updated 5 November 2026
These terms cover everything you buy from RetroFabs. They apply to every order placed through retrofabs.com. Please read them before you pay. If something here is unclear, email fabs@retrofabs.com and ask.
1. Who we are
RetroFabs is run by SilverCloud Consulting, trading as RetroFabs. You can reach us at fabs@retrofabs.com. In these terms "we", "us" and "RetroFabs" mean that business, and "you" means the person placing the order.
You must be 18 or over to place an order. The person who plays the game can be any age.
2. What we sell
We make personalised retro-style browser games. You choose your games, a character, colours, an occasion, the name and message that appear in them, and the number of levels (up to 10). We build the games from those choices and give you a private link to play them.
There are three packs. They differ in how many games you get. Every pack includes a private link, and the same name, character, occasion and message are used in each game in your pack:
- Solo, one game of your choice.
- Trio, three games of your choice, and a downloadable copy of each game as a single file.
- Arcade, all six games, and a downloadable copy of each game.
The current prices are shown in the builder and on the home page. Everything is digital. Nothing is posted to you.
3. Previews
Before you pay, the builder lets you play the first level of your game for 30 seconds so you can check how it looks. The preview is a sample. Once you have paid, the finished game has all the levels you chose.
4. Placing an order
You place an order by choosing your options in the builder, ticking the box to confirm you understand you cannot cancel for a change of mind once the game is ready (see section 7), and paying through Stripe. Your order is accepted, and a contract is formed between you and us, when your payment has gone through and we send you the confirmation (the "Your game is ready" page, and the email we send to the address you gave at checkout).
We may decline an order, or cancel one and refund you in full, if something in it breaks the content rules in section 9, if we think the payment is fraudulent, or if there is a technical problem we cannot fix.
5. Price and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling. The price shown at checkout is the full price you pay. There are no extra charges from us. Your bank or card provider may add its own fees, for example for a foreign card.
Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Your payment is taken when you complete checkout.
6. Delivery
We build your game as soon as your payment is confirmed. This normally takes seconds. When it is ready you will see a page with your game link (and your downloads, if your pack includes them), and we email the same details to the address you gave at checkout. Please check your junk folder if the email has not arrived. You can ask for the email to be sent again from that page, or by writing to us.
The game runs in a web browser on a computer, phone or tablet. You need a reasonably recent browser. We have tested the games on current versions of the major browsers but we cannot promise they will run on every device.
7. Changing your mind
Normally, when you buy something online in the UK you have 14 days to change your mind. For digital content that is made for you and supplied straight away, you can give that up. Before you pay, you tick a box to say you want us to make your game straight away and that you understand you cannot cancel for a change of mind once it is ready. Your game is ready within moments of payment, so after that point we cannot offer a refund just because you changed your mind. The confirmation email we send you says the same.
If something goes wrong before your game is ready, you can cancel and we will refund you in full. Your rights if the game is faulty or not as described are not affected. See the next section.
8. If something is wrong with your game
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose, and as described. If your game does not meet that standard, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced. If we cannot do that within a reasonable time, you can ask for a price reduction or a refund. These rights are separate from anything in these terms, and nothing here limits them.
If you find a problem, email us as soon as you can with your order link (the one that ends in a long string of letters and numbers), what you were doing, and the device and browser you were using. A screenshot helps. We will fix real faults or refund you.
Spelling or wording that you typed into the builder and that appears as you typed it is not a fault, because the game shows what you asked for. Please check the preview carefully. If you do spot a mistake after paying, get in touch. We will usually try to help, but we are not obliged to remake a game because of a typing error.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They normally arrive within 5 to 10 working days of us issuing them, depending on your bank.
9. What you can put in your game
You choose the name and message that appear in the game, so you are responsible for them. Please do not include anything that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights, and please do not use another person's name or personal details without their permission. The game is aimed at all ages, so keep your wording suitable for children.
By ordering you confirm you are allowed to use what you typed in. If we think your text breaks these rules we can refuse or cancel the order, switch off the link, and refund you.
10. What you can do with your game
All the artwork, characters, music, code and designs in the games belong to us. They are original to RetroFabs. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any video game company.
When you buy a game you get a personal licence to play it as often as you like, to share the link with the person it is for and their household or close family for fun, and, if your pack includes the files, to keep and play the downloaded copies. You may use it as a gift. You may not sell or hire it out, publish it as your own, put it on a site that charges for access, take it apart to reuse our artwork or code, or use it in a commercial product or advertising without our written permission.
The words you gave us for your game stay yours. You allow us to store them and use them to build and supply your game and to resend it to you.
11. Keeping and sharing your link
Sending your game as a gift: if you choose the gift option at checkout, we email the game link to the address you give once your payment is complete, with your name as the sender and any note you write. You are responsible for entering the right address and for only using the address of someone who would expect it. The gift email never shows the price. You also receive your own copy of the link, and the same 5-device limit applies to the link whoever opens it.
Your game link is private and cannot be guessed, and it is not password protected. Treat it like a gift card code. To stop one purchase being passed round for free, each link opens on up to 5 different devices (phones, tablets or computers). The first five browsers to open it are remembered, and after that it will not open on new ones. If you have changed device, cleared your browser or need more devices, write to us with your order number and we will help. The downloadable copies for Trio and Arcade can be downloaded a limited number of times each order. If you share your link or files more widely than this licence allows, we may stop the link working.
If you lose your link, we can resend it to the email address you used to pay.
Your game link stays live for as long as RetroFabs runs the service. If we ever decide to close it, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand and, if your pack includes downloadable files, remind you to save them.
12. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss of business or profit (the games are for personal use), or for problems caused by your device, browser, internet connection or anything outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Our total responsibility for any one order is limited to the price you paid for it, except where the law says otherwise.
13. Your information
How we use your information is explained in our Privacy notice.
14. Problems and complaints
If you are unhappy about anything, please email fabs@retrofabs.com first. We will reply as quickly as we can and aim to sort it out within 14 days. If we cannot agree, you may be able to use the courts. You may also be able to ask an alternative dispute resolution body to help, although we are not obliged to take part.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example if the law or our service changes. The terms that applied when you placed your order are the ones that apply to that order.
16. Other things
These terms, together with the details of your order, are the whole agreement between us about your purchase. If one part turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still applies. Only you and we have rights under the contract. These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use the courts there. This does not take away any rights you have as a consumer in your own part of the UK.
